International Shipping

When you have to send a car abroad usually one thinks of using a ship or plane.  Of course we go to Canada by road but that too is an international shipment and the same rules for exporting cars have to be followed. U.S. Customs is involved in any vehicle export shipment.  You must have your original title available in the USA prior to exporting your car(s). If you export a vehicle that payments are still being made, you also have to provide notorized original forms from the lienholder(s) that permit export as well.   With ocean shipping your cars may go roll on or roll off, inside a container exclusively, or in a shared container.  Each condition has its advantages and disadvantages and cost differences.  In most cases quotations for service will be to the Port of unloading and exclude any of the new country’s fees for import. Clients should always remember to check with that country’s departments to discover which fees they will be subject to when they go to collect their vehicles.
