Auto Transport New Mexico
Located in the southwest portion of the United States, only about 16 people live in each quarter mile of New Mexico making it the 6th least populated in the country. Most people think of New Mexico as one big desert. However, this is not true. While the southern area of the state is largely arid, the northern portion of the state is mainly made up of heavily forested areas and mountainous regions. This is not to say that there are not challenges for auto shippers in New Mexico as, in both the North and South, the summer heat can be intense and an average summer temperature in excess of 100 F is not rare in lower elevation areas. In addition more and more people moving to and from New Mexico are now finding smaller towns out of the way of the major thoroughfares.
For rare cars, enclosed haulers are the best option during the spring and summer. As there is little rainfall annually, simply waterproofing soft top vehicles is usually sufficient to protect their interiors. The major highways typically used by auto shippers are Interstates 40 and 25. Interstate 25 runs from the North to the South of the state. Interstate 40 runs across the center from East to West. Both highways meet in the state’s largest city, Albuquerque.
